{MOM!!!
When are the fireworks gonna start?}

4th of July Jamboree
Part II

After the West Jordan Parade, we asked Aunt Tracy if we could have her baby Charlie for a sleep over.
Miss Kitty was thrilled with the idea of movies, popcorn and a shared rawhide for dessert.
It's been years since she's been on a real date.....
let-a-lone with such a young stud like Charlie :)
(Charles is a full bred yellow lab)

It only took five minutes, and she remembered why she stays away from the young'ins.
Yes, Charlie is a hornDOG.
Hump, hump, hump....humpityhump
Miss Kitty finally had enough and let him know that she does NOT "doggy-style" on the first date.....even if the Doberman and Poodle around the corner said she does.

That eve, we gave Miss Kitty her anxiety tranquilizer, put her to bed and brought Charlie to the park with us.
We had the perfect plot saved for watching the firework show that was scheduled to begin around 10pm.

To pass the 1 1/2 hour wait, the boys played leap frog,
Ran the entire field 349 times.....

Climbed fences,
Had their own WWF smack down,
Walked Charlie which attracted many a kids wanting to be gnawed on by the puppy.

Riv looked over and noticed Charlie's nose in the bag of white cheddar popcorn.
White Cheddar Popcorn is one of those "hallelujah" special treats for Riv.....
He was very disappointed :(

But Charlie's cute eyes and adorable charm couldn't keep Riv sad.
He is the cutest lil pup!!!
Riv decided that puppies don't have germs....
the 10 second rule applies.
Riv finished the bag with no problem.

At 10:00 I was able to get the boys to lay with me in anticipation for the most amazing firework show they will have ever seen!!!!!

10:15 came......nothing
10:30........one very small glitter firework was shot
10:45.........rain drops
10:50......no kabooms....more rain
11:00....we left
assuming that there were major technical difficulties and that we were going to be caught with 9543 people trying to find shelter from a rain storm.

I was feeling bad because I really wanted the boys to have a good experience.
They both said that they had a GREAT time, and didn't even care that we were leaving.
I think laying under the sparks and flash was more my dream than theirs :)

We drove a mile down the road and I looked in the rearview....
the show was starting.
I pulled to the side, we got out and sat under a blanket on the curb.
All snuggled together we oooooo'd and aaahhhhh'd and admitted that this was a fabulous way to end our evening.

We may not always have a clear picture of our future....and it may not always be exactly as you had hoped it planned.
But we can expect the frame to hold at the least, half full pictures of smiles along the way :)
