{Jager saved my eyesight}

I just couldn't miss this year's Biker Jamboree in Elko.......

(me, Jenni, Lisa)
So I hornswoggled two hot blonds to take a ride Westward to the "butthole of America" with me.
Everything is cheap and over the top in Elko...
Just look at our bargain $3 jumbo beers!

My friend Brandie is like the coolest chick in Elko!
She has all the hook-ups,
knows all the bands,
and is in charge of the entire Jamboree.
She set us up in a discounted room and free V.I.P. tickets to Uncle Kracker

Brandie was telling us her story of picking up the Kracker from the airport.  She said it was weird in the fact that it felt totally normal to have him sitting in her Tahoe!
He's a nice guy and a real family man.
He was having a hard time missing Father's Day with his kids.....
Brandie worked on getting him a flight out that night :)

They had a mile of streets blocked off to house food stands, alcohol shacks, bands, retailers, etc.

Of course, the people watching IS the highlight of this Jamboree....
I got a few new fashion faux pas looks for halloween.
The gal that the arrow is pointing to was.....well how do I say it?
Unique
Get a good look at the ruby red boots!

This guy felt left out....so we used him as the prop.

Lisa fell in love with these little boys and their HawkMoes.
The chub cheeks on the bottom is my fav!

The timing became an issue, and Uncle Kracker was not in our cards :( boo hoo!
BUT...
My band friends, The Midnight Riders were rockin out a full house at the Stockmans.
This particular picture is of Billy the lead singer doing his Micheal Jackson impersonation with the glove, wig, glasses and hat.
We were warned for what would be coming next......

(These signs were on the tables .....
nothing really to say about them, but I thought they were cute)

This is an official number that was strapped to an arm of a contestant.
I cannot show the pictures of the contest, because they are too booby graphic for this family blog.
First, was a long  stupid tattoo contest...which could have also been the "ugliest person in Elko" contest.
Next was the:
WET T-SHIRT CONTEST WHERE THE T-SHIRT LASTED ONLY 2 SECONDS.
Oh yah.....that's the way Elko rolls!!!!

This aint my first skank rodeo, so there wasn't a whole lot that shocked me.....
but for Lisa and Jenni, this was taking things to a
WHOLE NUBBA LEBBEL!
Good thing the Jager shots were only $3 too!
We needed something to distort our eyesight.....who knows what would have happened.
OMG!!! We could have been blinded!!!!!!

We were also celebrating Jenni's upcoming birthday.
Out came the Sharpie marker, and we wrote love tattoos on each other.
I thought they looked great on us!

We had so many laughs, so many stories, so much fun, and too little time.
Thanks Lisa and Jenni :)
You gals rock my world!

Elko 2011....who's with me?

Oh....forgot to mention.....
I won $600 on a penny machine at 3 am
WOOT! WOOT!

I've always loved every little podunk town in Nevada--and all the sagebrush and fun drivin' roads in between. The annual end of January Cowboy Poetry events are mahvelous!

My favorite NV locale of all is PIOCHE. I believe they still have their annual Labor Day weekend party. I should check it out.

I adore the remote village/ghost town atmosphere of Jarbidge, too.

I love the desert and the lonely curving roads--Driving through Nevada--making lots of delicious time waster stops. NV iss always a joyous adventure for me--
Even when I was a little kid and Dad or Mom was driving, engulfed in the silvery rising heat waves of day or the cool chill of the silent starry night.

The old canvas waterbag was always swinging from our front bumper. Gotta have water in that barren paradise.

Did you really shoot Jager? Maybe by next year we can talk Brandie into doing it a different weekend. If so....I'm in. If not.....Friday night-hell ya! Besides, all the action is Friday night with the "Biker Babe" contest. ha ha ha.

Congrats on the 6-hunney won at 3 AM!! Woot Woot! I would have given ANYTHING to see Jenni and Lisa's faces when the on stage action started! I have experienced the soft porn personally and lived to tell...well, maybe not all! Glad y'all had a rockin time....wishing you could have gotten backstage with the cracker....

Oh! You have to P.S. this one and include the shuttle bus ride!
