{Dear Sir/Army Man}

Randy's mom, Carol, returned inspired after visiting Dan and Sheila in Seattle . Dan has been sending care packages to the US troops filled with goodies and letters of appreciation. Yesterday afternoon, she picked up my boys and they went shopping at Big Lots for a cart full of "Army Man" stuff. They filled three boxes to the brim with crackers, granola bars, top ramen, gum, pudding, etc. They also included these letters. Disclaimer: I know it has their non-incognito names.......we are living on the wild side today.

Translation:
Army man,
Thanks for being in the Army. We packed food and gave you all sorts of food. We gave you Top Ramen. I hope that's OK...and some food....mailed it. We gave you tea. I wonder if you have water? We also gave you popcorn. I think you have a microwave. And we gave you oreos that might melt. We gave you cookies and cheese nips that might be good and hot chocolate. Three things of hot chocolate and meat in a can. Well I hope you get home safely. My name is Jax...Army Man.
This act of support gave the boys a feeling of contribution and pride. It was a bigger lesson than I had expected it to be. Grandma Carol did good!

that is so awesome! We used to do a program where you adopt a soldier, write and send the packages, it was awesome. We made lap blankets for disabled vets here, took them to homes to give out, talk about full filling, set blankets to hospitals in other countries to soldiers. They love those packages of food, and knowing someone cares. Good thing to have your boys doing! There are may web sites to help get more involved.
