{We gave you a name}
March 8, 1999 River legally became our son.
We now were able to apply for a birth certificate with "Randy and Jolie" as his parents and River D. as his given name.
The finalization of his adoption was one of the greatest moments in our lives.
The "letting go" of thinking anyone would try to come take him away from me was over.
We were secure now.
He was ours.
We celebrate the March 8th anniversary each year.
We call it "River's Special Day".
To River, it is kind of like another birthday.
We cater to him all day and let him choose his favorite dinner spot.
To Randy and I, it is remembrance of how fortunate we are to be the parents of such an extraordinary life.
He was born to be my baby.
